Introducing: Our Carbon Programs
The Carbon-Free Zone and Carbon-Low Zone program by Green My Room is a carbon offsetting program designed for hotels wishing to reduce the impact of their carbon emissions and fight climate change. After the hotel has carried out a carbon audit, carbon credits are purchased in a certified reforestation project. Guests may be given the option of participating in the hotel’s carbon reduction strategies by contributing a small per night fee in order to offset their stay.
How It Works
Through an information campaign of your choice, your guests are informed about the hotel’s sustainable practices and carbon reduction activities and are invited to take part in offsetting their own stay. The information should include a copy of the hotel’s carbon credit certificate for the current year and details of where the money has been spent. Also included is a calculation of the carbon emissions generated by a single person per night at your hotel, together with the cost per night should they choose to offset. Upon check-out, the guest is offered the option of offsetting the carbon equivalent of their stay.

Once your hotel has purchased certified carbon credits and offset all, or a part, of its emissions, you receive the Carbon-Free or Carbon-Low Zone logo. Green My Room will provide you with a carbon credit certificate to display at Reception.
Why It Works

Involving your guests in your carbon reduction efforts is a key step in encouraging growth in a tourism market segment that is most likely to appreciate and respect the totality of your environmental actions.

This allows you not only to recover some of the investment that you have spent offsetting your emissions, but also offers your guests the opportunity to participate with you in saving the planet.
